To the Gerding Family: Sandy, Carly, Sydney and I are deeply saddened by the news of your husband and father. He was an outstanding man who kept all the families (Gaudys, Graces, Gerdings and Dexters) laughing all the time. Additionally, I don't think my dad's house would be standing if not for Mr. Gerding and his handy work. I also enjoyed talking about Air Force experiences. It seemed like some things never changed from the stories that he told me. We will keep his memory in our hearts and prayers. Love, Sandy, David, Carly & Sydney Dexter

I had the pleasure of working with Jack in Operations Control in the 1959 - 60 timeframe. We used to do a lot of bantering about USNA versus USCGA. He was a happy person, had a great work ethic and always had a smile! My condolences to Katie and family. Murray Boggs

"Four years together by the bay..." Many warm memories of a great friend, the last one being at the wedding the day after graduation in 1954. Beautiful bride, handsome groom, groomsmen with swords held high. God Bless you, Katie, and your family. Rest in peace, Jack.

Dear Mrs. Gerding, John, Bill, Beth, Mike and Joe: Wish we could have been at the service today to share hugs and stories. Even though we haven't seen each other in years, I have many fond memories of our family get-togethers, especially our wedding rehearsal dinner that you so graciously hosted at your house and the hilarious outfits Mr. Gerding and Beth wore to Dad's "Dirty Old Man" birthday party. I will always remember Mr. Gerding's jokes and the laughter that he could so easily coax out of us all. Our prayers and thoughts are with you all as you adjust to this great loss. With all our love, Donna, Stan, Shelly and Julie
