Someone like Betty doesn't grace this earth or the lives of others often enough and your profound sadness is shared by us. Betty was such a beautiful, giving and supportive person, and I was truly blessed to have has her in my life. She became my "other mother" after I also had the good fortune of meeting you Chet at work WAY BACK in 1981. Although, often fighting my own personal demons-she was always there with a pat on the back, a shoulder to cry on or a much needed kick- whatever the situation warranted and she was always right. She gave freely, truly and genuinely, never having been too busy to put up with me. Betty was there when I lost my 1st child and then when I had my 2 daughters. Her frienship, concern and love were REAL and never waivered and I credit her a great deal for turning my life around- I don't know that I would have done so without her unselfish wisdom and support. I will miss her greatly! The girls and I will keep you in our thoughts and prayers in this tremendous loss. Kathie Wright

Our deepest sympathy to the family for the loss of Betty. She was a very special person. She will be missed by many. Our family knew Betty thu our sister, Vonda Dunbar who was Betty's neighbor for over 30 years. Betty was a joy to be around. May God bless and keep Betty.

We all were so deeply saddened of Betty's passing and want you to know that we share your sense of grief. Although there is little anyone can do to lessen your grief, we want you to know that you are very much in our thoughts and prayers. There are so many wonderful memories of Betty for me because she was not only a neighbor but a mother to me and a grandmother to my children for almost 30yrs. It was a privilege to have known her. When I first moved across the street from you both, I was in my 20's and she in her 50's...we had such a wonderful bond between us from the beginning. She would introduce me as "Her Daughter" and those words made me so proud to hear them. She gave me a plaque back in 2002 that still hangs on my wall that I will cherish forever: "Not flesh of my flesh, nor bone of my bone, but never the less, still my own. Never forget for a single minute you weren't born under my heart but in it.." I love you Betty and will miss you so much...You have made me the woman I am today and I thank you. Fly High Betty...... May you take some consolation in the knowledge that Betty is now at peace and with God and her love ones.
