May we offer our heartfelt condolences to the Porcella family; you are in our thoughts and prayers. We are truly saddened and utterly devastated by your loss. My wife and I tell the stories of these incredible paratroopers and especially the tales of Tom. The people who listen to these stories always experience laughter and tears in equal measure. We hope to ensure that these brave men are never forgotten and we will continue to tell the stories of the 508 and in particular the great Tom Porcella. Thank you for your memories; we will keep them in our hearts and speak of them often. Jonathan and Lucie Keeling of The Lost Patrol, Mansfield, England

To the Porcella family, I am deeply saddened for your loss. Even though I never met Tom, we corresponded through email about the 508th PIR. My uncle was in the 508th and I had a tremendous interest in everything about it. I was so happy to get Tom's stories about his experiences in Normandie. He was a true hero and even more, a wonderful person. He was so giving of his time especially to anyone who had an interest in the 508th. I consider myself so lucky for having known him. He sent me a piece of parachute silk that he had from Normandie. I will cherish it forever and when anyone asks me about it I will tell them of Tom and what a special person he was. God bless him always and his family too. Please know that you will all be in my prayers always. much love and sympathy, Liz Farrell

How fortunate were we to have touched shoulders with Tom....a true patriot! We have so many memories of our friendship.....most of which make us laugh! The Christmas lights....trying to outdo one another, the Sat. nite card games, the construction projects, and of course the politics......all combined to make an enduring friendship. May he rest in peace.

To Molly,Alli and the Porcella family, Our deepest sympathies on Tom's passing. We know that he lived an amazing life full of rich memories. And we are proud that Alli chose our team with which to learn to jump and honor her grandfather. I know that he was so proud of her for he wrote and told me. Tom, you have reunited with the ranks of the men you served with long ago...and are watching over others as they follow in the footsteps you all forged for them. Much love to all and heartfelt prayers for peace. Dom and Jil
