Obituary of Cory Craig Smith
Cory Craig Smith passed away on May 31, 2021 in Vero Beach. Cory was born May 5, 1976 at Holmes Regional hospital in Melbourne, Florida. He attended Satellite High School and graduated in 1994. When he was a kid growing up in the beach area, Cory enjoyed surfing and fishing with his friends and family. He was employed in the construction trade for most of his working life and, like his grandfather before him, worked with his hands but was always thinking of how to get the project completed. Cory had a smile as wide as the morning sunrise, always had a kind word to say and enjoyed playing scrabble on-line with his sisters and friends. He struggled at times with the disease of addiction and it took a toll on his life during his young adult life and forward. He was loved by his family and friends. His family always held him close to their hearts and stood by him during good and troubled times. He was loved and will be missed by family and friends alike.
Survivors include Dana Prince-sister; Leah Carden-sister; Elizabeth Barnhill-mother; Craig Smith-father, Martha Smith-grandmother; William Smith-uncle; Barney Barnhill-uncle; Kathy Barnhill—aunt; David Bryan Smith-cousin; Kelsey Barnhill-cousin and his nieces and nephews, Aidan Prince, Anna Prince, Isaac Carden and Nola Carden. Also, as well as his friends here in Brevard, Cory had his tribe of friends in Vero Beach who meant a lot to Cory and for that our family is grateful and appreciative.
