Betty Ruffi

Obituary of Betty Ann Ruffi

Betty Ann Ruffi, age 87, of Indian Harbour Beach, passed away on March 3, 2022. She was born to Hansel and Lela Conway on January 9, 1935 in Greenwood, Arkansas.  She spent 87 years living life to its fullest. She met and married the love of her life Richard Ruffi. Together, they spent more than 70 years as spouses and had four children: Rick (Sharon) Ruffi, Jeffrey Ruffi, Lori (Chip) Leonard, and Kelly (Donna) Clem. They were blessed with 10 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was affectionately known by all her grandchildren as “Pretty Grandma Betty.” They loved her and wanted to spend time with her. She made each event with them fun and memorable. She truly had a unique ability to connect with children of all ages and make them laugh. She taught the 3 and 4 year old class at The First Baptist Church of Indialantic for 40 years. There, the children lovingly called her the “Candy Lady.” Every week she would bring sweet treats to give out to the children. They loved her and she loved them.

Her passion for sharing the Good News of the Gospel was not limited to the children at church. She also led women’s neighborhood Bible studies. She faithfully reached out to those living around her. Betty loved the Lord and she loved studying His Word. She spent many, many hours doing just that. Her extensive library contained volumes of texts generally reserved for seminary students. Betty was a true disciple of Christ, sitting at His feet and soaking up all the wisdom and treasures shared in the Scriptures. She was most satisfied in Him.

Betty was always the life of the party. She loved to dance and sing and was not afraid to belt out, “Delta Dawn” at her grandchildren’s weddings. Her zest for life always managed to put a smile on everyone’s face. Her family and friends will miss her dearly, but they take comfort in knowing Heaven has one more voice in the choir, smiling and singing about the goodness of God. Welcome Home good and faithful servant.
